Saudi Arabia based healthtech startup Metafare has raised $1 million in its first funding round, backed by Harmonics Ventures and a group of family offices. The funding marks an important step as the company looks to scale its virtual wellness platform powered by artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
Founded in 2025 by Ibrahim Almaghlouth, Metafare was created to rethink how healthcare is delivered. The platform offers immersive digital health experiences that allow users to access personalised wellness sessions remotely. By combining technology with healthcare, the company is aiming to make wellbeing more accessible and integrated into daily life.
Since its launch, Metafare has delivered over 3000 virtual sessions, reflecting growing demand for flexible healthcare solutions. The platform focuses on both physical fitness and mental wellbeing, offering short and engaging experiences that can be accessed at home or within workplace environments.
The funding will support further product development, expansion of its AI driven personalisation capabilities, and growth of its content library. It will also enable the company to strengthen its presence across Saudi Arabia before gradually expanding into wider Gulf markets.
Interest from organisations in employee wellbeing programmes is also creating new opportunities for the startup. As companies place greater emphasis on workforce health and productivity, platforms like Metafare are becoming increasingly relevant.
As digital health continues to evolve, Metafare is positioning itself at the intersection of technology and preventive care. Its focus on accessibility, engagement, and innovation reflects a broader shift toward more proactive and personalised healthcare solutions across the region.
