OORI Secures Saudi CMA Licence to Expand Regulated Private Market Investments

Saudi Arabia-based private markets investment platform OORI has secured a licence from the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to conduct arranging and advising activities, marking a major step toward its operational launch in the Kingdom.

Founded in 2023 by Elie Nasr and Naif Al Ajmi, OORI aims to provide qualified investors with regulated access to curated, Shariah-compliant private market investment opportunities. The platform will initially focus on technology companies across the pre-Seed, venture, growth and pre-IPO stages.

OORI completed a seven-figure USD pre-Seed funding round in 2024, backed by strategic investors, family offices and angel investors from Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Europe, including Bunat Ventures and RZM Investments. The funding supported its technology platform, regulatory licensing and preparations for launch.

The company seeks to address barriers traditionally associated with private markets, including limited deal access, high investment thresholds and complex structures. OORI has also developed partnerships with investment banks, venture capital firms, private equity funds, wealth managers and financial advisors.

Over time, OORI plans to expand into additional alternative asset classes while exploring tokenisation, smart contracts and digital investment infrastructure, supporting Saudi Arabia’s evolving investment ecosystem.
