Bahraini Insurtech Soor Secures Pre-Seed Investment to Expand Digital Insurance Platform

Bahrain-based insurtech startup Soor has secured an undisclosed pre-Seed investment from Spring, a venture studio and ecosystem builder backed by London-based investment firm Salica and Bahrain’s Al Waha Fund of Funds.

Founded in 2024 by Mahmood Dhaif and Qasim Albaqali, Soor operates a digital insurance platform that allows customers to compare policies from multiple insurance providers and purchase coverage through a single application. The platform aims to make insurance more accessible by improving transparency around pricing, coverage and available policy options.

Soor is licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), enabling it to operate within Bahrain’s regulated insurance ecosystem. Its platform also provides insurance companies with a digital distribution channel to reach and serve customers.

Following the investment, Soor plans to enhance its technology, expand partnerships with insurance providers and improve the overall customer experience. The company also intends to strengthen its position in Bahrain while evaluating opportunities for regional expansion.

The investment highlights growing interest in digital insurance solutions across the Gulf, as technology-driven platforms seek to simplify traditionally complex insurance purchasing processes and improve customer access to financial services.
