Egyptian healthtech startup Reme-D has raised $1.45 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Anara Impact Capital, with Global Innovation Fund and Africa Health Ventures also participating. The Cairo-based molecular diagnostics company develops affordable, temperature-resilient tests for tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, and HPV, targeting healthcare gaps across Africa and other underserved markets. Since launching in 2023, Reme-D has commercialized 30 diagnostic products and distributed over 550,000 tests across Egypt, Kenya, and Sudan.
The fresh funding will support a move to a 1,500-square-meter facility, a tenfold jump in manufacturing capacity, and continued team growth from five to fifty employees. Reme-D also plans to expand into genetic disease and cancer diagnostics. Anara Impact Capital’s Mohamed Hussain praised the founding team’s scientific expertise and market understanding, while CEO Salma Tammam said the funding advances Reme-D’s mission to remove barriers to diagnostic access across the Global South.
